Notice:
Frequent Visits - Tourist Visa Category & Non US citizen
holding a Tourist Visa:
If
you intend to visit India twice in less than two months, special
approval from the consulate will be needed and you must supply
a signed letter stating that you will not be engaged in any
business activities, study/ research or employment. The signed
letter must also state that the purpose of visit is strictly
recreation or to meet friends, relatives or associates. Below
are the 2 forms needed:
1. Re-entry Permission
form.
2. Permit Support Letter.

Requirements
for obtaining an India Visa:
- A
passport valid for a minimum of six months from the date of
intended arrival in India (with at least one blank page available).
- One
Indian
Visa Application Form, filled out online, dated and signed
by the applicant.
- Two
recent passport photos.
- A
copy of round-trip ticket or an itinerary showing travel to
and from India.
Non- refundable tickets or reservation should not be purchased
until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.
- A
copy of your US Alien Resident Card for foreign residents
and/or a valid visa or document to return from India to the
US or to another country.
- Copy
of Valid Drivers License or Utility Bill (Water, Gas, Electric
or Sewage) with applicants Name & Address.
Not accepted: Cell phone bill, Credit Card statement,
Bank Statement or Lease. The address can not include a P.O.
Box.
For minors, a parent or guardian proof of address
may be submitted.

Minor
Applicants: Minor applicants must have a copy of the
vital page(s) containing the picture and signature page
of both parents signed passports.

Parents
Information / Birth Certificate (copy only),
now required, effective Jan. 22, 2010.
A photocopy of the birth certificate or any government issued
document that shows parents name, date of birth and nationality.
Depending on your nationality at birth, these are the documents
that are accepted.
- US
Born: Only birth certificates are accepted
for applicants born in the US.
- Indian
Born: Those born in India can use their birth
certificate, old Indian passport or school leaving certificate.
- All
Others: Those not born in the US or India should
submit a birth certificate or any government document
from the country of origin that has parents name, date
of birth and nationality.

For
Business visa: Same as above but including the following:
- Letter
of Employment, stating employee's name &
title, contact in India, job description to be conducted
in India, how long the employee has been working for
the company, and assuming full responsibility for the
applicant while in India.
- To
obtain a 1 or 5 year business visa the letter from your
company must explicitly state that you are requesting
a 1 or 5 year visa.

Sponsor
Letter From Organization in India: A letter
from the sponsoring organization in India on company
letterhead indicating nature of applicant's business,
probable duration of stay, state the validity of visa
applied for (1 Year or 5 Year), places and organizations
to be visited and also a guarantee to meet maintenance
expenses etc.

- Tourist
Visas:
(a) 6 month validity - $73.00 (for US citizens).
(b) 5 or 10 year validity (Only available if you have
a Canadian, UK or USA passport & you were born in
one of those 3 countries) NOT available for Airline Staff
- $163.00.
(d) Transfer of 10 year visa to new passport - $38.00.
(Not available for Person of Indian Origin)
- Business
Visas:
(a)
1 year multiple entry - $173.00 (for US citizens).
(b) 5 years multiple entry - $253.00 (for US citizens).
- Entry
Visas for US citizens:
(a)
6 months multiple entry - $113.00.
(b) 1 year multiple entry - $153.00.
(c)
5 years multiple entry - $233.00.

Tourist
Visa Prohibitions: Applicants who meet the following criteria
should apply for an Entry (X) visa,
NOT a Tourist visa:

Persons
of Indian origin.
-
Spouse
and dependent children of a person of Indian origin.
- For
Spouse provide a Marriage Certificate & for Dependent
provide Birth Certificate.
-
Spouse
and dependent family members of a foreign national coming
to India on long term visa such as Employment, Business,
Research or Student. In such cases, the visa duration
granted is co-terminus with the period of the principal
visa holder.
Persons
of Indian Origin:
Persons of Indian origins applying for an Indian visa are required
to surrender citizenship of India immediately if not done already.
Next day processing time will not be available, and the overall
processing time will be increased.

If the applicant has already renounced Indian citizenship,
one of the following must be produced as proof:

A
Certificate of Renunciation issued by a Consulate
of India.
-
An
Indian Passport that contains a stamp that specifically
renounces the citizenship.
-
If
the applicant has NOT renounced Indian citizenship,
or cannot show proof, the following must be provided:
-
Naturalized
after May 31, 2010:
-
-
Renunciation
fee of $175 paid with a separate Money
Order payable to 'Consulate
General of India'. If the applicant is applying
in the Washington DC jurisdiction, the Money
Order should payable to 'Embassy of India'.
-
Copy
of the Naturalization Certificate - to be provided
only in cases where US passport is issued on or after
June 1, 2010 while naturalization took place on or
before May 31, 2010. For minors who were not issued
naturalizatio certificates, the parents must write
a statement that the minors citizenship was obtained
through the parents, and provide a copy of the parents
naturalization certificate.

Most
recent Indian Passport. Applicant must provide photocopies
of the first 3 pages of the passport and the last
two pages of the passport. If the applicant does not
have the passport, the applicant must provide a police
report that shows the passport as lost or stolen.

Naturalized
before June 1, 2010:
-
Their cancelled Indian Passport or,
- If
not cancelled, then please provide your Indian Passport
with 2 original copies of the renunciation
form.
- Renunciation
fee of $20 paid with a separate Money Order
payable to 'Consulate General of India'.
Processing
Time for Re-Entry Permit: There is no guarantee that the
permit will be granted. Only cases where the Ministry in India
approves will be granted. The processing time is indefinite.
Once
you have the above documents in order please call us prior to
sending documents. Make payment to Arrow Travel & Tours and
send a Pre-paid return FedEx Airbill or appropriate
fee.
