American nationals holding US Passports need an entry visa for Uganda. Naturalized American citizens of Uganda descent need an entry visa for Uganda as well.

National of the countries listed below are exempted from visa requirements for travel to Uganda. They do, however, need to have a current passport issued by their respective countries. Members of COMESA: Angola, Burundi, Comoros, Erithea, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia & Zimbabwe.

Other excempted are: Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malta, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Vanuatu, Italy (only diplomatic passport holders) & Cyprus.

General Requirements for obtaining a visa for Uganda:

• A passport valid for at least the six months (with at least one blank page available).
• Two visa Application Form "J", completed and signed.
• Two passport size photos.
• You must have:
  •  An International vaccination or re-vaccination against cholera. (recommended, not required)
  •  An International inoculation certificate against yellow fever, typhoid and malaria.
• A copy of round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from Uganda.
• For Non-Tourist visa - a letter from the sponsoring organization outlining the purpose of the journey, etc.
• Filled out & Signed our Service Order Form.
